a pretty cool concept. I was thinking 3d printing, but it doesn't seem to be, as that would be more cool than gypsum.

Saw some 3D maps at the Menlo Park USGS office a while back, they looked pretty cool. http://www.geomart.com/products/raisedr ... squads.htm

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
