Owens Valley / Mammoth Weather Forecast

The upper level high pressure ridge is moving east as an eastern pacific low pressure system crosses into northern CA. There will be a chance of precipt Friday night. On Saturday nite another trough is set to pass through, giving us a chance of rain in the Valley and snow in the High Country. Snow levels will drop to 5,000 feet Saturday nite in the High Country.

Friday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies turning partly cloudy tonite. High temps will be in the low 60s and lows will be in the mid 20s. Winds SE 10 – 15 gusting to 30 mph.

Friday for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with highs in the low 50s. In the evening, chance of rain/snow with snow level at 7,500 feet. Chilly temps down to the low teens. SW winds 15 – 25 gusting to 35 mph in town and 80 mph over the Crest.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly cloudy with cooler temperatures, turning mostly cloudy in the PM with a 50% chance of showers. Highs will be mid 50s and lows will be in the mid 20s. Winds SE 10 – 15 gusting to 25 mph.

Saturday for Mammoth: Rain/snow in the PM. Snow level will be at 5,000 feet. Windy conditions NW 15 – 25 with gusts to 40 mph. It will be very windy over the Crest with gusts to +90 mph.

Sunday nite an upper level ridge builds in behind the departing trough with dry weather forecast for Monday. A shortwave will pass through on Tuesday, but models have yet to determine the extent of its moisture. A dry ridge builds in on Wednesday and Thursday.
