I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Thank you for posting these, Maverick. I've specifically purchased new gear with an eye towards Milky Way shots in the Sierra. Currently looking at buying a computer so I can do post work on night shots. Right now, only editing I can do is on an iPad, which is ultimately limited. Did a trip last September that saw some success with night shots (pics below) and I'm getting ready for a couple of trips this year. Purchased a TrailPix tripod on your recommendation and look forward to using it on the trail. I'll report back once I've run it through its paces. Only been able to use it for day trips thus far.
In the shadow of University here. Can't remember which lake we were camped at. Clearly I could benefit from watching these tutorials.

are nice, but seems to be out of focus, which is one of the difficulties folks have when

Thank you, gentlemen. There's a couple of issue I know we were having with the focus. One being that it's just difficult sometimes to tell if the image is focus or not when you're shooting in the dark. The second being that the tripod we were using was the zipshot tripod. It's decent, but not ideal. I'm gonna watch through these tutorials and hopefully have some better shots to share after the July 4 weekend.
