This is where going in the reverse order of my route would be preferred. I descended the pass late morning and things were a little loose. Also, you can bypass the sketchy section entirely with a little rock scramble off to the side.

I was curious if you had a picture of the Bishop pass sketchy section. I'm going over it July 12th ish & was curious what it looks like at the moment. Of course, it may be less sketchy by then.

I went over Bishop Pass on June 27. There was no sketchy part. Most people were hiking in plain boots or trail runners with poles. No need for crampons or ice axes, and I personally don't think microspikes are needed either, although depending on your perspective they could be a comfort. There were a few snowfields, but it is all mostly melted out on the trail.
