Lemonade from lemons?
Have given up on plans to cross country ski in the Hope Valley area near Tahoe. We were wondering how the hiking is in the Bishop/Rock Creek/Convict Canyon areas? Does anyone have info on this? Thanks.

Was at Convict Lake yesterday - The 3.1 mile trail around the lake is bone dry - minimal water coming down the canyon too...walked up the canyon to the stream crossing (a few/3 miles up) without boots on snow.
Snow level at ~ 9,000 - 9,500 feet elevation...looks like June conditions

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
