Last week, Hot Creek experienced 600-700 minor quakes. I was second in line to go up chair #3 in 1980. We heard an earthquake before we felt it. It was Memorial Weekend and I'm skiing. (Everyone or most went home. Next day was a free ski day.)
After the first 6.0 mag, we went fishing at Crowley Lake. There was no power anywhere, so, we went to Green Banks. I walk towards the inlet and another quake hit, 6.0 and I saw the dry ground come rolling towards me, I had to drop on my knees, in the middle of no where, and I saw the earth push up some much ground, was a site to see. All the dry ground, due to low water level was really pretty awesome. I was younger, had no I-phone, camera, but, It's still in my mind.

You should have been there in the spring of 83, multiple quakes! When one caused a power outage I almost got knocked on my butt by the shaking when I stepped on some ice as I walked out to my car to get a flashlight. I'm sure Ditli and others in Mammoth during that time had similar experiences.
