Milestone Pass

Post by Bluewater »

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Milestone Pass leads from Milestone Basin on the east to Milestone Bowl on the west.

CLASS/DIFFICULTY:
Class II

LOCATION:
Sequoia NP. HST Map

ELEVATION:
13,025 feet.

USGS TOPO MAP (7.5'):
Mt. Brewer, CA

ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
From the northeast/Milestone Basin side climb the long boulder fields toward north of Milestone Peak and traverse to the south to the saddle on the south ridge of Milestone Peak. If approaching from the southwest/Milestone Bowl side climb toward the saddle to the south of Milestone Peak. The final 50 feet is steep on both sides but the boulders are mostly stable. Avoid the cliffs on the east side that are slightly south of the actual pass. Photos below may be more clear than my description.
