TR: Mt. Langley via New Army Pass 6/7/14
Day hiked Mt. Langley last Saturday. Started at 6:30 and was on top at 1:30.

[rimg]http://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos- ... 4560_n.jpg[/rimg]
Little bit of snow on top of New Army Pass, easy to get through without any equipment.

Old Army Pass on another hand not passable even with ice axe / crampons, at least 2 other hikers chose not to try it and there is no steps or evidence that someone made it through recently.
Back at TH at 7:30.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Greetings, thanks for the TR. Did you get a chance to observe the lakes up there including Cwood, Long, and S. Fork Lakes? How is the snow condition? heading up there for the opener.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Old Army Pass is the hairiest pass I have ever went over. At its worst, it is a cliff with snow. And it can stay that way till mid-season.

On June 7th Sky Blue Lake was ice free. The lakes higher than it were still iced up but probably melting fast. Below is a photo of the lakes north and west of Sky Blue Lake. Erin Lake had a thin layer of ice over 80% of its surface.RiseToADry wrote:Any pics of the lakes in miter basin? Did they look iced over?
