I read on the forest service website that the Wrights Lake campground in the Eldorado National Forest near the Desolation Wilderness is closed because of severe wind damage. I am interested in a backpacking trip start from there in the late spring or summer. Even though the campground and facilities are closed, would it be possible to start a backpacking trip from there? Has anyone been there recently?
Thanks

Higher taxes never reduce the deficit. Governments spend whatever they take in and then whatever they can get away with.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
