Forecast: Owens Valley & Adjacent High Country

All:

Discussion: Upper level trough over the Gulf of Alaska is starting to drop southward into the Pac Northwest. As the trough sags it will lose potency, but some weak shortwave activity will give us possible flurries over the Crest Tuesday night. In addition, winds will pick up to advisory levels in the High Country north of our area.

Today: The Owens Valley can expect mostly sunny skies today turning partly cloudy tonight. Temps mid 60s / low 30s. Winds S 10 - 20 mph.

Tomorrow: The valley will see partly cloudy skies. Temps mid 60s / upper 20s. Winds S 10 - 15 mph.

Outlook: Upper level trough will remain along the west coast through the weekend. It looks like we will experience a few shortwaves from this trough, one on Saturday followed by another Sunday into Monday. Right now, it looks like the best chance for precipt and light snow in the High Country will be Sunday into Monday.

We'll be heading up to Mammoth Lakes tomorrow night.

One of the guys described the slopes as "white lace thong on a brown booty". We'll probably take the FJ out on some of the backcountry roads. (:)
