Dayclimbed Owens Peak with WLD, then stopped by two pictograph sites.
After dinner and beer at Indian Wells Steak House and Brewery, WLD headed back home, and I drove to Death Valley to meet up with a desert forum group to check out some petroglyphs.

Thanks, revhobo! These are my first pictographs. I might go back this weekend to find my Oakleys, and maybe look for the shortcut. I think I know where I lost them. I hate to do the same trip again, but also hate to spend another $140. This time I'll get one of those straps to hold them around my neck.

Great pictures!! The shamman pictograph and its location on the rocks was my favorite. That and the beautiful opal sky above Five Fingers. Looks like an interesting trip.

Sorry for the off topic, but that's one of the reasons I resist buying such nice glasses - I lose them and scratch them. Are they really that much better than you average $30 polarized wraparounds? Since you had them for a while, I am sure you have an opinion on it now.
I have trouble finding anything to fit me. I have a few pairs of those $50 glasses that cyclists use. I have a small nose so most glasses slide off my face. The Oakleys don't.
So for me its worth it if I can find something that fits.

Last weekend I lost some expensive sunglasses between the pictograph sites. Tomcat_rc joined me to look for them. Didn't find them. At least we tried. The hike climbs almost 3,000' in 2.5 miles. Round trip including both picto sites is about 7 miles
