Re: Camp Shots
A couple of Kodachromes from August 1982, Merced Peak Fork in the Clark Range, from the days when you pitched your tent on the grass. It just started a downpour when we put up the tent. The visibility was about 100 feet. The rain stopped and we discovered this incredible view. I took the second photo after dinner before I hung the food from the tree in the foreground.
I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.

One of my favorite campsites in the Sierra. Visited in early 70's then 2007 and again this year. Pic below is from 2007. Mike

Re: Camp Shots
I've been meaning to get back there for years and not made it. The funny thing is in 1982, the storm hit and we said this looks like a good place. We loved it so much, we layed over there the next day and day-hiked to the snowfields around Red Peak Pass (t was 1982) . In our memories, it remains one of our favorite campsites. It's now one of those "when we retire . . ." trips since the next two years are kind of set.

Cold morning in August. Ionian Basin. 19º and coffee water frozen, pocket rocket a slow hiss, as my brother and nephew snooze. SEKI 2010
