A newbie here, so bare with me if this has already hit the discussion boards.
I have been re-reading this book lately, and still love it, and just want to share with anyone who would appreciate it:
"Early Days in the Range of Light: Encounters with Legendary Mountaineers"
by Daniel Arnold
This has totally enriched my hiking experience by telling detailed stories about the first explorers and climbers of the high sierra, sprinkled with first-hand experience from the author retracing their steps. Wonderfully written, too!
Enjoy.

I just recently read this one- a great read and made me want to repeat a couple of the climbs myself, with a new appreciation
