Re: Panorama Trail TR
Not surprised there was that much snow on the rim as it just snowed a half foot down on the floor on April 13. Snow level had been about 3500 feet and a huge cell just sat on areas of the lower Merced basin. At this time of year snow in shady forest areas is slow to melt. Visited the valley early Saturday morning for an hour but was sunny with harsh light making photo notions useless. So scooted back west out of the park to balmy lower canyon areas west of Briceberg where I camped a couple night.

Hopefully this rain will make the wild flowers continue to spread. Read that they
are spreading on the north side from the rock slide area to El Portal.
Also the Dogwoods are supposed to be really popping out all over in the Valley.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
