Hi all. I know some of you from other msg boards.
I am doing the forementioned hike, also known as the kiop Peak Pass Traverse from the 100 hikes book. Basically, the route is out of walker, up thru sardines, over mono, parker and kiop passes, Alger lake, gem pass, gem lake and out.
We picked the route due to length, that we only have 3 hiking days available, no quota, easy drive from sacramento, etc. My questions are:
1. Anyone done this hike?
2. Is it better to camp the first night around parker pass to even the mileage out somewhat vs. Upper sardine?
3. Any other hikes like this in the vicinity that meet our criteria?

Camping is prohibited in the Dana Fork of the Tuolumne River in Yosemite NP, so you will not be able to legally camp from Mono Pass through Koip Peak Pass.

I just dayhiked Walker Lake to Mt Lewis and it was a long day. I kinda remember camping somewhere near Parker Pass, but that was 4 yrs ago so don't remember.
