Re: 2011 Skeeter Reports
Every year, mosquitoes bother us. We just put up with it. I remember walking the "High Trail" in the Wind River Range, the JMT of the Wind River Range. We walked down into a little valley, and the sound of mosquitoes was so horrible, we cringed. I covered my dog in my bag, and she escaped.
It was a great tip though.

North Fork Big Pine Creek - The mosquitoes were terrible this past weekend - especially between 10,500' and 12,000' If there was a breeze blowing, it wasn't too bad but, otherwise; even the Deet didn't stop them from attacking.

July 20-24: It felt like peak season out there to me!
Duck Pass & Duck Lake not bad at all
Purple Lake; moderatly bad
Cascade Valley/Fish Creek; really bad!
Olive Lake/Jackson Meadow Area: swarming, attacking, off the charts bad! If you don't have a head net, you will breathe in the little buggers!
Lake of the Lone Indian; moderatly bad!
Tully Hole; moderatly bad!
Virginia Lake; not bad at all! A great place to visit.

Clover Meadow, just below Lower Blue Lake in the El Dorado National Forest: Lots and lots of the buggers. Elevation 8000'. It's at least a 4.
