Thanks for the comments gentlemen.
Russ as opposed to using an IR filter I converted the photo under
Layer>New Adjustment>Black&White in Photoshop, and then adjusted the individual
color channels plus some other actions after this.
IR to me in landscape really works well with nice clouds otherwise the black sky is
not close to appealing too me, and because of this I had to clone two clouds on to the
left side of the photo to create balance in the photo which to me made a big difference.
