This first link above is to my report of a solo trip out of North Lake over Piute Pass to Merriam Lake over Feather Pass to Bear Lakes basin, Dancing Bear and Italy Pass to Royce Lakes and back to North Lake. The second link is to the photo page — scroll past the 2008 photos for the 2009 ones.

I’m amazed and envious at how quickly some of you succeed in posting your wonderful reports and photos. It takes me hours and hours to type up and make pages of scattered notes and observations into a coherent narrative. Also, since I still prefer film, I need to scan the photos. Thanks for the trip report.That is a very beautiful area and comes at a price with a ton of climbing.Enjoyed your pics also.Here is a pic I took from above Merriam lake.
