Yosemite or Bust!

Since Tioga Pass opened last Tuesday, I figured I'd go up for the day to take some snapshots before the snow melted. This was my first solo outing to Yosemite since my surgeries almost 3 years ago.

Left the house around 6:30AM and I got to my first destination, Siesta Lake, around 9AM. I did some walking, no hiking yet, but I hope to make some short hikes this year.

Tuolumne Meadows
I "camped out" at Tuolumne Meadows to hopefully take some pictures at sunset. With the clouds obscuring the sun, I thought the evening would be a bust, then it appeared...









Packed up my camera stuff and got back to the car around 8:30 and got home right before midnight. Since there was still some snow up there, I think we're going to take the kids there next week.

The sunset photos were taken right in Tuolumne Meadows. Right now there is water in some of the meadows. Another month and it should be dry.

wow ! I've never been there in the spring and didn't realize there were "lakes" in TM. Makes sense, though.
