Combo Birthday Celebration!- Pyramid Peak DV 10-25-08
Snownymph, Tomcat and Sierra Sparkles' Combo Birthday Party started off with a great climb to the summit of Pyramid Peak in the Funeral Mountains in Death Valley. Snowy, KathyM, Joe, TomG, Robin, Chip and myself met up for the hike (TomB had other plans, but would meet up with us later that night) Fun stuff. Here are some pics from the climb...

Since we couldn't find a weekend to celebrate Sparkles and Tomcat's birthdays, we celebrated with my birthday weekend. After a great hike, we cleaned up and had dinner at Longstreet Casino, then went to camp for cake and celebration.

Great pix everyone
Now that Im back online I can start playing catch-up with my albums. Hopefully Pyramid will be up by tomorrow night. Great fun and it sure was a lot warmer than what I originally thought it would be.

Walking outside is where I find what's inside.

Bat Mountain

Only 3 of us hike Bat Mountain (4,963') on Sunday, the others headed home. I love this mountain, but this mountain does not like me. Last time I was stuck overnight when I couldn't get the FJ around a ditch (it was the dark). This time I fell and bruised both hands, and other parts.

Wish I could have made it; unfortunately, while great in other areas, this has not been a good year for hiking.
Looking forward to getting together with the group........if not necessarily going on one of the desert death marches!
Glad to see everyone had a great time and made it out in one piece.
I noticed that there was a pole growing out of Tom's head on the summit of Bat. Is that a portable communications device?
Cori, with all these matching bright outfits, you look like a big Starburst fruit chew!!!!!!
