Morgan Pass via Pine Creek

Post by skunkpuppy »

Hello HST Humans!

I know the old mining road between pine creek and morgan pass got washed out in 2018, and the last internet mention of it was about 3 years ago. I went up there in 2019 and saw the damage firsthand.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has checked it out in the last year or two. I know how we mountain goats forge paths over time, and I guess I'm curious if that gross washout section has been carved into something less heinous by adventurous foot-traffic???

Probably too much to hope, but Holy moly it would be so grand to have that route workable again for some big running loops I have in mind....

Any recent trail conditions would be really appreciated! If I don't hear anything on here, curiosity will probably drive me to go scramble it myself. In which case, I'll for sure post my findings!

i don't have the answer, but i would assume it's as bad as the last known conditions report, if not worse thanks to successive seasons of disrepair.

i'm certainly curious what you find though -- a workable morgan pass trail opens up some great loops, as you mentioned!
