Emigrant Wilderness, North Fork Cherry Creek

Post by Logan »

I'd like to hike off trail from Lord Meadow up the North Fork of Cherry Creek heading up to Five Acre Lake and then to Big Lake at the end of August this year, 2025. I'm only good for class 2+ scrambles. Does this seem reasonable? Does anyone have a .gpx I could look at? Many thanks!

Hi Logan,

Go to the Trip Report section and type in the key areas you are interested in. There are numerous trip reports available for that area.

For example: viewtopic.php?p=180796&hilit=lord+meado ... ke#p180796

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org

Hi Logan,

Going from north fork cherry to 5 Acre is pretty easy, just aim for the saddle that is north west from cherry. Lord's meadow is one area I have yet to explore so I have no comment about that particular area. Most of the area is glaciated granite and fairly easy to navigate. Sounds like a fun trip.
