I highly recommend this idea and wish someone would have told me this when i did the HST. I went up to Kaweah Basin and then out after Whitney but this would have been way, way better!

The all-trail loop via Colby Pass is a great route, but not sure you could do it in your timeframe. Check the total miles and see if it works for you.

I like this thread. It has given me lots of ideas for future trips. I can fit 7 to 8 days food in my bear cannister. So 7 day trips work for me. And being retired I have lots of flexibility on when I can start a trip.

Thank you SO much everyone! What a kind and friendly corner of the internet this is. To answer some questions, I'm coming from Los Angeles and was planning on leaving my car at Whitney Portal then catching a ride from a family member up to Sequoia. Definitely open to just driving myself and making a loop, however. Really appreciate all of the insight and encouragement.
