Re: 2025 HST Meetup
I remember that Harlen mentioned all of you talking about it during last year’s meet up.
Maverick, you make it sound so very easy when you describe it to Bald Tires!
Jasmine Rose and I are a package deal, so Seki is forbidden land for us. Anyway, I do believe it is past my navigational skills and I really would not want to hike into a bushwhacking situation intentionally.
I am so very sad and sorry for the loss of your homes Gazelle and Schmaltz. I hope that, despite the fire, you will be able to enjoy summer outings this year.

Re: 2025 HST Meetup
Haven't been posting as much the last 1-2 years but Tehipite Valley has been high on my list and I've always wanted to join a meetup. Its on the calendar and will try to make it!

Re: 2025 HST Meetup
Never having been to a meetup before I have been wondering how many people show up to a meetup. And how hard will it be to get a permit. As best as I can tell there are three trailheads that provide access to Tehipite Valley in the Sierra National Forest and one trailhead in SEKI.

Re: 2025 HST Meetup
Sorry, I have been focused on transferring and coding the trip reports.
It's nice to see some new folks interested in attending and some regulars.

The Crown/Rancheria trailhead limit is 6 per day, 6 months priory, and four walk-ins, so please plan accordingly. Be flexible with your starting dates. Also, several members may be starting from different trailheads.

We would have had 20 people attend the meetup last year, but several were turned back due to the weather or illness. Several regulars are interested in attending and have contacted me via PM, who are not accounted for here.Never having been to a meetup before I have been wondering how many people show up to a meetup. I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Re: 2025 HST Meetup
Just reserved my permit. 2 people had reserved before me. Besides the Crown/Rancheria TH, the Statum/Spanish TH and the Woodchuck TH provide permits that will allow you to hike to the Tehipite Valley. That's 23 per day on the 6 month reservations and another 15 per day released two weeks prior.
I will pick up my permit sometime on the afternoon of the 6th and hike in to the Crown Valley area. On Tuesday I will hike to the valley. Looking forward to this trip.

That would be me that got permits!

How's the poison oak? From what I'm reading it can be an issue on the descent.

I am thinking about bringing my pruning shears to clear stuff off the trail if I need too. I plan to do the decent into the valley on Tuesday.

Re: 2025 HST Meetup
The meetup week is now within the Sierra NF reservation window. There is availability every day that week.
