Thousands of USFS Trail and Maintenance Workers Job Cut 2025

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

There is a lot of time between now and backpack season for damage to be done, or should I say essential services NOT to be done.

On the NF side, there will be no washouts repaired or blowdown removed. Either on the trails or the roads to the trailheads.
Also no one checking permits.
