So sorry to hear this!!! It is devastating to lose your house etc to fire as I have been through it in 2021. It does get better but takes some time, I am not sure I am over it still, or ever will be completely. I took about 2 1/2 years to be somewhat back to normal. Gazelle, thanks for the offer. I will hit you up when the time is right. Step one is to find housing for my family for the next year+. We are competing with thousands of people in the same position. What a mess.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org
