Alert: Hwy 395 Closure 9/4-9/19

Post by maverick »

Mono Co Sheriff's Dept:
ATTN DRIVERS: Beginning September 4 at 6 am, U.S. 395 will fully close between Bridgeport and State Route 108 until September 19 to allow crews to install wildlife undercrossings within the Sonora Junction Shoulders Project.

The only available detours around the area will be:
- Northbound travelers can take State Route 182 from Bridgeport and connect with Nevada Route 338.
- Southbound travelers can connect with Nevada Route 208 at Holbrook Junction and take 338 south.
U.S. 395 through the communities of Bridgeport, Walker, Coleville, and Topaz will remain open throughout the closure. Access to State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) and State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) will not be impacted.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I just figured the miles this adds for me. If I go Hwy50/ Luther Pass, Minden it only adds 16 miles getting to trailheads at Bridgeport or south, which is not bad. Not enough to change any plans.
It gets more complicated if you are going north and want to go over Sonora Pass.
