where to stay in Fresno (no car, near Amtrak)?

Hi all - any recommendations for a good place to stay in Fresno that is walkable to Amtrak and restaurants? We're getting a ride there from Roads End and then taking the train the next day, and won't have a car in the meantime. Thanks!

Unfortunately the downtown Fresno area near the Amtrak station doesn't have the most options for restaurants open in the evening (they're mostly places that cater to the downtown lunch crowd).

For most convenience and if you're not picky about where you eat, then staying somewhere close to City Hall/Community Regional Medical Center will put you walkable to Amtrak and you'll probably find something open with food. If you're willing to take a short Uber/Lyft ride to the Amtrak station the next morning, then I'd recommend the Tower District as a more interesting place to stay with more food options.
