Taboose Pass Trailhead - Road Condition?

Hello! How is the road to Taboose Pass these days? Is it passable in a Subaru Forester for a moderately experienced driver? If it's sketchy, how close can one safely park and hike in? In other words, what are good strategies to reach this trailhead without a 4x4 truck?

I parked at 37.00952, -118.31115 in 2022. There are the remains of a side road here that made for a nice pulloff. I had a no clearance rental and just gave up on the road.
