Simpson Fire

Post by Fviolich »

Does anyone have a fire/smoke report from the Simpson fire along the Middle Fork Kings River, just west of Bench Lake? Cal Fire reported it August 6th, 42 acres and 0% contained.

42 acres is like, nuthin'. Hasn't been any activity on the satellite for a while at least 4 days.

Carrying an N95 this time of year is never a terrible idea and weighs very little.

Sitting on the summit of Mt Harrington a couple weeks ago, it was pretty strange how we could see the beginnings of the Sentinel Fire and the Happy fire burning in the Monarch Wilderness. Didn't affect our day though.

Actually I reported it from when I was on black crown by tunemah lake. It was very small above the trail. They flew over it later that day. I wouldnt worry at all about it.
