Mosquito Report for Desolation and Twenty Lakes Basin?

Post by huynguyen1 »

On July 23 I'm heading to either Dicks Lake in Desolation or Twenty Lakes Basin. Anyone know of the skeeter situation in those areas? Thanks a million (trout)!

They were bad in Desolation two weeks ago...but should be moderating by now. I cowboy camped up on a granite ridge in Desolation twice in early July and only used a headnet for about 45 minutes.

Last night we were at 9,000 feet in Yosemite (Lyell Canyon) and had only minor issues with bugs. i was fly-fishing on the river and used Deet for that at dusk, otherwise, there were few enough to slap.
