July 4th-ish +/- Rush Creek What to do?

Post by commonloon »

Let's say hypothetically that you got a hall pass to get out for a weekend... say starting from Rush Creek TH. Have crampons, micro-spikes, ice axes, etc. will travel, maybe with a little type 2 fun ;-) I'll be traveling fast & light; for those that don't know me :D 30 miles-ish.

What would to do?

Here is what I did from Rush Creek in another past high snow year. This year has more snow so what you see with this late June trip may be more like mid-July this year. The Photobucket pictures do not all show up. I bumped this up before and put in the photos- they are at the end.

People complain about the talus on Mt Davis, doing it with snow would be a reprieve from that.

Could also just post up on a wind swept ridge with a view, and chill out :)
