Thanks for all the great Trip Reports

Post by Harlen »

I'm still lieing about, staying off my casted leg, so I have been pouring through HST Trip Reports, and really enjoying them again! I find a new favorite every day, but I was so "re-impressed" by frozenintime's "TR: Mammoth Follies..." that I thought I would call it back up to share around. I think it contains some of the very best Sierra photography I've ever seen, and their trip takes place in some truly wild, lesser-traveled northern San Joaquin River country. I recalled the amazingly inviting photo of Iron Mountain, and Creek, and that memory started my search for this stellar report by frozenintime. It is that 2nd photo which has never left my mind. Here is the trip report linked below-- Enjoy. And thanks again to you frozenintime, Ian.

Hi Frozen, I did my ankle-- the "tip fib" people seem to commonly call it, as the end of the fibula breaks during the twisting of the ligament. [*see write up below if you like.] The good part was that it happened at the end, rather than the beginning of my trip. [this was the TR https://www.highsierratopix.com/communi ... hp?t=22943 ]
It's not bad as breaks go 6-8 weeks to heal, but it is impossible to ski, or even to hike very far with cast and crutches. Hence the vicarious travels through your great trip report, and other's. It's timely that you noticed this post and replied because I've been back into your longer TR, and had some questions for you.
