My route is harder than the established routes, yet, for that time of year (May), it's safer from a snow & ice perspective. I recall hearing that the day before I reached the summit, one person from a party of four fell in ice in New Army Pass, and died. *

Feel free to ask any questions..... Lately, I've been anxious to go up the N. Fork Lubken Creek as another way to get to Langley. It goes south, then a sharp right to the west towards the north side of the Whooleyback (the only peak that's round on top). Once I skipped the right and kept straight to a pass that leads to the Cottonwood area. *
