With Vertical Cure coming up in 3 weeks, and only 10 days on the slopes (my lowest yet!) I have to start 'training'.
Vertical Cure is a fundraising alpine ski event challenging participants to ski as many vertical feet as possible in one day. Our goal is to raise awareness of Scleroderma - a chronic, autoimmune tissue disease that currently does not have a cure - as well as secure charitable pledges to support research for the disease. If you would like to sponsor me or others, go to http://www.firstgiving.com/corinnenewton A fun weekend on the slopes!

Re: Mammoth Mountain training
Good luck on your event, Cori! You've done this event a couple times before, haven't you? I remember that you had one about the same time that I was involved with an ACS "relay for Life"... I'll be heading to SoCal again next month for mine (I'll post something soon).
I seem to remember that your group was pretty successful with your fund-raising last time. Good luck.... and have fun!!

Re: Mammoth Mountain training
Thanks for sponsoring me, Rosie! Yes, this will be my 5th year doing this. I missed the first year. It’s a fun event, doing what we love, and its for a good cause. I will look for your “Relay for Life” announcement. Looks like a lot of them are in my area. Maybe we can do dinner or something if the timing is right.

Diana looking good on Wipeout

good food and friends at Whiskey Creek - that's my salmon and salad in front

Silversun Pickups playing at the Village after

Sunday morning - snowing but the sun kept coming thru

Christine looking good on Avy 1

Terry on Avy 2 - each run was freshies

Tom tearing it up on Avy 2.5

JeffM on Avy 3

It was such a good day I stayed on Chair 22 all day - ear to ear grin!
