Hi Everyone,
If you are interested in learning more about long-distance hiking and thru-hiking, the American Long Distance Hiking Association West (ALDHA-West) is hosting their annual "ruck" events on March 9th and March 24th. Both events are virtual on Zoom. The March 9th event is specifically focused on thru-hiker education, and will include breakout sessions on navigation with apps and DIY gear. There will numerous special guests speaking. If this sounds appealing to you, I encourage you to attend!

Re: ALDHA-West events + thru-hiker education
Following-up on this Wednesday March 9th event. . . Two highlights that may be relevant to our HST community:
1. Kevin "LarryBoy" DeVries will be speaking about his "Route in Between" through Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. It's a unique 2,500-mile route that connects the Arizona Trail with the Idaho Centennial Trail.
2. Gear Giveaway for registered attendees (lottery system). There's everything from Gossamer Gear backpacks, ultralight tents, Purple Rain skirts, Toaks titanium cookware, and more.
