Best Trip Report Websites

Post by kdemtchouk »

As we head into winter, it’s time for 2022 backpacking planning to commence! What are some of your favorite websites to use as inspiration in terms of trip reports?

I know trip reports are common in this forum, but what I would really like are personal websites of those that have gone really deep exploring the Sierra.

I have encountered a few over the years but the only one I can remember right now is:

HST+the search function

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org

I'll cast my vote for HST.
And, now we have a tie!

Plutoniclove.com (who also posts on here) has very well written trip reports, as well, IMO.

I second that. I agree about maiathebee's site at: https://plutoniclove.com/
Bob Burd's reports are excellent and heavy on climbing - https://www.snwburd.com/bob/
rockyroad's reports, great photos and words - http://mytrailmixx.com
Kevin Gong's trips at: http://kevingong.com/Hiking/index.html
