Due to Dixie Fire along Hwy 70/Feather River Canyon.

Hikers are advised to follow highway 89 around the fire area.

Caribou Wilderness now closed. Expect Lassen Volcanic to close soon. The Dixie Fire keeps spreading north, jumping containment lines.

Sky is obscured. My home just went into mandatory evacuation. Lassen NP closed. We loaded up the RV and are camped out in the woods by Susanville. The fire has burned into Lassen NP, but that is not the priority now. Too many communities are in immediate danger. This fire just will not lie down. Fuel moistures are so low the fire indices are at 99th percentile.
