If you've been searching for the best source of information and stimulating discussion related to Spring/Summer/Fall backpacking, hiking and camping in the Sierra Nevada...look no further!
Okay, there’s some drama here about me quitting the PCT, but if you want a very recent look at the Sierra from Kearsarge Pass to Bishop Pass, here are my trip reports:
I did not bring an ice axe and only had one trekking pole after I stupidly took my spikes off on the north face of Glen Pass and did a cartwheel into a rock.
Fun!
Water crossings were all possible with dry feet and some skill (which I didn’t always possess!). Absolutely none were life threatening.
The new storm today will probably bring more snow, but it will likely be gone in a week, so these pictures will probably be representative of conditions then.
I've been following your trip from the beginning and to be honest I thought you were toast on day 2 when you went home to the hot tub (haha). But I was so very wrong! You then hiked all the way to Bishop Pass. Awesome trip reports, by the way. Thanks for posting.
