Anyone know someone who hikes up to Piute pass? Like end of June.

okay. I'm ruling out a Fall trip this year. Closures and smoke, etc.
If someone lives there (Bishop) knows someone who hikes to the pass and back regularly from North Lake, I'd like intel on when Summit lk on the other side of Piute pass melts out. It would be my trigger to get a permit for ice out. Not really expecting a quick answer as we haven't experienced winter yet.

Do you recall Lizzie and my trip up to H.Basin via Piute Pass; the trip where I rather pointlessly hauled a sled through the mud? Well that trip was in June of 2017, and here's what it looked like:

The dogs are looking toward a couple of the lake basins you may want to fish.... with an ice-saw rig?

All I need to know is if Summit Lk is ice free or close.

If I do ice fish this year it will probably be in the Tahoe area. I do NOT intend to ice fish in June in the french basin.

Asked a simple request. Anyone know someone like a trail runner in bishop. I know there are a few as they were there even in September last time I was there. If you know someone in Bishop who hikes early season up and back to Piute pass, that is who I want to talk to.

BTW, I don't like be referred to as Stalin. Satellites aren't as current as you think.

Great, thanks for the clarification, but don't expect everyone to be up on some obscure urban lingo, which could cause folks to misinterpret and take as an insult, as was it this case.
