The pass next to it is called Texas Pass. Then a bit further south is New York Pass. Who knows why?
A lot of mid-westerners frequented the Wind Rivers in the post-WWII days when things were named. Even today I sell a lot of guidebooks to mid-westerners.

Thanks for another great TR. I love the look of that area around Baptiste and Grave Lakes. What cliffs! I hope the storms added some beauty besides stalling your progress a bit. Nice fish, and finally-- good luck with the ankle.
