Horseshoe Meadow/Road Opening Today

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Great news, I heard the campgrounds were getting trashed with no restrooms, water, or disposal services in place. Must have been a growing mess, makes sense to get them open.

Does anyone know if Horseshoe Meadows road is still open? I was hoping to backpack over Cottonwood Pass for a few days starting this weekend - I've been calling the Lone Pine ranger station and other locations but no-one picks up or returns my messages -

Re: Horseshoe Meadow/Road Opening Today
As of Tuesday afternoon, according to Inyo National Forest person on the phone, IIRC: road open until the gate. It is about half a mile walk from the gate. Park along the road near the gate.
The person also said road to Onion Valley was open.
I decided not to go for a 5-day hike in these places: too much snow in higher elevations and unsettled weather Friday (precipitation and wind).
