Well said, Daisy.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.

Hell if we took hypothesis as accepted scientific theory, Josiah Whitney's notion that Yosemite Valley was created when "the bottom of the valley sank down" would still be regarded as true. This should go without saying, but maybe we should let these studies run their course before we draw conclusions from them. And even then we should be skeptical of confirmation bias, data gathering means, lack of a control group, etc.

New polling story of how ridiculously unprepared most people are. Note what I wrote in a post a few pages back of how all my adult life I've never taken out loans or gone into debt even though to do so I lived frugally for a decade. Instead many buy into the materialistic impatience of always buying big items on credit going into chronic credit card debt and after year and years it becomes "normal" while have $200 tv bills each month and whatever is popular stuff.

Speak of the devil!rightstar76 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 1:43 pm That's an interesting question. Why so many casualties in NYC but not California? Could it be because so many people flew back to NYC from Europe in March?
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... rchers-sayThe explosion of Covid-19 cases in the New York City area resulted largely from infected patients who flew in from Europe, genome scientists say.

Re: Corona Virus
Kudos to Lightheart gear for using their sewing abilities to make PPE for healthcare professionals.
From their website:
"...our sewing machines are naturally spread quite a distance from each other since we normally work on very large items, so staying 6 feet from each other is easy. LightHeart Gear, along with many other members of the Outdoor Gear Builders, of Western North Carolina and are working closely with the Carolina Textile District to manufacture other PPE."

Exactly, And if there is one thing we know about this whole situation, it's that we don't know a LOT of stuff.creekfeet wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 8:25 pm Hell if we took hypothesis as accepted scientific theory, Josiah Whitney's notion that Yosemite Valley was created when "the bottom of the valley sank down" would still be regarded as true. People from Europe flying into NYC? What about people from China flying into SFO, LAX, and YVR?
The biggest single challenge to ALL the theories is the fact that COVID19 can be contagious from people who show no symptoms, and thus haven't been tested. that skews ALL the statistical analysis, and consequently, the theories.

Re: Corona Virus
We do know that California had its first confirmed case before New York did.
