Wow, it's great to see the forum back up. Over the last year or so I've checked in only to find the forum down. Snow Nymph was nice enough to drop me an email and let me know that the site was back up. I've included a few shots I took in the Bishop Creek area around the beginning of October this year. Enjoy.
I checked the EXIF data on that shot and it was taken at 6:45 PM on Oct 1. Both October 1&2 offered some great red color in the sky at sunset. I have a belief that it may have been from the 24,000 acre brush fire in the San Fernando Valley area that was going on at the time. Although the fires were a few hundred miles away, the setting sun would have had to shine through the smoke that was blown out to sea by the Santa Ana winds. It was taken in front of the Bishop Creek Lodge looking up toward South Lake.
I just Googled Mt. Baldwin because I was curious where it was in relation to the road to South Lake. Your shot of the cloud ranked #1 for the search
Nice shot getting the water behind those aspen leaves. Something I'm always looking for along steep aspen slopes next to lakes.
SB >>>"BTW, how far away is Mt. Baldwin from the Bishop Creek Lodge?"
Mt Baldwin is on the ridge behind Mt Morrison above the McGee Creek lower canyon dogleg and well shot by pros for wildlflowers. The peak is in the back of the right side of the cirque in the above image. ...David
