Friday, June 14, I went up I-80 to Big Bend to see where the snow was at Loch Leven Lakes. Everything was nice and dry at the trailhead (elevation 5800) but I could see snow on the ridgetop.
I ran into snow as I approached the railroad tracks, just a little above elevation 6000.
As I approached the summit, elevation 6800, the snow was deep and coverage was pretty complete.

My guess it will be well into July before these lakes are thawed out.
