The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has reopened Monitor Pass (SR-89) as of 3:00 this afternoon. Ice, snow and debris removal work has been completed to ensure the traveling public’s safety.
Caltrans reminds drivers to carry chains and to be prepared for winter driving conditions should new storms arrive. We recommend carrying blankets, water, food, a shovel, gloves, a flashlight, and sand or kitty litter to provide traction in case your vehicle becomes stuck.
For the latest highway information please visit the Caltrans QuickMap site at quickmap.dot.ca.gov or call the Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
