I went into Pine Creek 7/24 2017 and then to French Lake, Steelhead, up to Royce, into Granite Basin and out. I thought it was great! I had to walk on snow and some lakes were frozen, fishing was not the best, but I got some of my best photos. But I am not a professional photographer so my bar as to what is a "good" photo is quite low. Sometimes snow and icy lakes have some good unique qualities too. AND I did bring and use crampons. Crossing Pine Creek was really hard- I nearly lost it!

I have lots of pictures of bighorn/ rosy finch / the passes from many angles / above as I circumnavigated and desended most of it last year for the HST meetup. I have also been to Hortense, well worth it! PM me for my email and will send pictures. As for coming up mills creek also WAY better than Mono pass! Go up to Gabbott pass then cross over to north of cox col (some call it north col) much easier than cox col, think I have pictures of that also basically the low point north closer to pipsqueak spire. Then I would drop down to treasure lakes also really pretty. Little lakes is beautiful!
