I use a full length Xtherm with a closed cell torso length and sit pad under that when on snow like last weeks two night trip. My knees alternated in pain depending on which was underneath. The Xtherm is a couple inches. I sold my DAM a few years ago, too bulky, heavy didn't sleep that well on it. I hate seeing quacks.
