Next week I will backpacking in the sierra for 5 night with my 8 year old son. My question is how do people put 1Tent, 1Sleeping bag, bear canister, and etc. into a internal frame backpack. I own Gregory Palisade, REI Taj 3 Tent and BearVault 400 pack. Where do you put it?
When I hiked long time ago, we did not need bear canster.
Need packing advise

I use a kelty flight (internal frame)
sleeping bag on the bottom
thermarest against the back so its padded from canister
canister on top of bag, upright
clothes on the side of canister
tent, jacket, raingear, on top of canister
stove, etc goes inside canister if room, or else on top.
tent is Stephenson Warmlight . . . 2 lb 13 oz and is 5'x9' . . . lots of room for two, but is pricy.
