Mark, thanks for the offer regarding the Penn replacement spool. I am indeed interested, even though my "replacement" Quantum is still kicking and performing mighty well. On my recent Blackcap Basin-Woodchuck trip I feared I had left the reel behind at Woodchuck Lake but it turned out I had repacked it into my mess kit to more efficiently use space in my pack--the "replacement" is still going strong.

Actually I was just checking my wife's still operational Penn and realized that the model number is not SS420, so I guess the replacement spool would probably not fit my Penn.
